A focal point is a highlighted feature along an axis that draws the eye
and holds one’s attention.
In the landscape, this can be nearly any type of feature, from plants to
structures, hardscape or ornamentation.
I designed this garden to be composed of three major focal points; the
view from the house to the heron sculpture and water wall, the view
from the bench looking back towards the house to the overflow spa,
and the view across the pool to the overflow spa and outdoor pavilion
terminating at the fireplace that is particularly captivating at night.
